So, what’s happening at this year’s conference?

MONDAY | RAC Audit Survival Guide Workshop with Arnie Cisneros

There is no escaping that the home health care you deliver and how you deliver it will be audited for skill and content.  Your survival in this new era of Recovery Audit Contractors (RAC) Audits will depend on how well you prepare by reviewing how you assess, deliver and document services.  Agencies and clinicians will seek guidance in modifying care to survive the increased scrutiny.  Programming will require new levels of efficiency, protocols, and clinical control not required since the Prospective Payment System (PPS) was introduced.  How will providers adapt care to address these changes?  Arnie will present strategies that employ best practices to adapt care to survive RAC scrutiny.  Service Utilization Review for Care in the Home (S.U.R.C.H), a utilization review program developed to assure PPS-compliant programming, will be demonstrated to bring clinical control to your quality assurance procedure.  OBQI Case Conference, a unique twist on the standard case conference routine, provides in-episode clinical management for your programming.  In addition, audits findings from Palmetto will be outlined as a starting point for the changes your agency needs to make.  Don’t let unlicensed auditors force you to re-model your care approach – use your clinical knowledge and resume to define the home health path of the future!

This progressive program was highlighted in The Remington Report, Caring magazine, and Decision Health publications.  Don’t get behind the audit curve.  Separate registration and fee is required to attend this full-day session.

Arnie Cisneros will return on Tuesday for Reports from the Home Health Front Line, which examines the effects of recent changes home health providers have encountered.

Are RAC Audits changing the nature of our day-to-day care delivery?

What progressive measures can we adopt to continue our care mission?

This presentation takes a case study approach to create a portrait of the latest trends, strategies and outcomes on the home health landscape.

MONDAY & TUESDAY | Blueprint for OASIS-C Data Accuracy with Linda Krulish and Sparkle Sparks

Spend two intense and fun-filled days learning all there is to know to collect the OASIS-C accurately.  Understand the specifics of the new items, changed items and process measures.  This workshop offers effective, timely, comprehensive and, at times, entertaining education directed at the field data collectors and their supervisors.  Learn what you need to know about changes to data collection rules and conventions.  Demonstrate mastery of learned concepts through participation in application scenarios.  Rather than provide opinions, assumptions or unfounded interpretations, presenters will provide up-to-the-minute answers on what information is available and what questions remain unanswered.

HCAF members pay $280 and non-members pay $560 until May 31; after May 31, members pay $310 and non-members pay $620.  Separate registration and fee is required to attend this 2-full-day session.  The exam takes place on Wednesday and exam fees must be paid directly to OCCB by calling (337) 321-6981 or visiting www.oasiscertificate.org.
