AHCA Quarterly Reports Due January 15

It’s that time again… Beginning January 1 through January 15, all licensed home health agencies must submit a quarterly report to the Agency for Health Care Administration. Agencies that do not submit the report by Jan. 15th will be assessed a $5,000 fine.

By law, home health agencies must report the following information based on the agency’s patient census as of Dec. 31st:

  1. Number of insulin-dependent diabetic patients receiving insulin injection services
  2. Number of patients receiving home health services from the home health agency AND a licensed hospice provider
  3. Total number of patients receiving home health services
  4. The names and license numbers of nurses (RN’s or LPN’s) whose primary job responsibility is to provide home health services to patients and received remuneration in excess of $25,000 for the three months of the quarter

For more information and instructions for submitting the report, click here to access the AHCA website or call the HCAF office at (850) 222-8967 or the AHCA Home Care Unit at (850) 412-4403.

HCAF’s advocacy efforts could change the amount of fines for failure to submit timely quarterly reports. Two bills before the Florida legislature, which will meet for 60 days beginning next Tuesday, will consider lowering the one-time $5,000 fine to either $50 per day up to $5,000 per quarter under on bill, or $200 per day up to $5,000 per quarter under another. Join HCAF at its 2012 Legislative Day at the Capitol on January 31 and February 2 and lobby state lawmakers on this important issue! Click here for more information.
