25 States with the Highest Rate of ER Visits

The American Hospital Association (AHA) has released a survey listing the 25 states with the highest emergency room visits per 1,000 population in 2010.

The data are for community hospitals, which AHA defines as non-federal, short-term general and specialty hospitals whose facilities and services are available to the public. These hospitals account for 85 percent of all hospitals.
