Brevard County Man Charged for Medicaid Home Health Fraud

Florida Today reports that a Brevard County man was arrested and charged with one count of Medicaid fraud and one count of grand theft for allegedly submitting more than $9,500 in fraudulent service logs to the Medicaid program. Both charges are third degree felonies.

If convicted on both counts, Chazmand A. Moore, 31, would face 10 years in prison and fines, according to a release from Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“We will not allow unscrupulous individuals to defraud the Medicaid program,” Bondi said in the release. “Fraudulent billing is one of the most common forms of Medicaid fraud, and we are dedicated to investigating and arresting anyone who commits this crime.”

Moore was employed by A1 Community Choice Home Health Care and GECS of Florida Inc.

Brevard County State Attorney’s Office will prosecute this case.
