Weill Cornell Medical College is now offering a free resource for home health agencies for depression screenings The online training explores the PHQ-2, the brief two-item screening for depression and also leads into instruction for the more comprehensive PHQ-9.
The 90-minute course teaches how to administer, score and interpret the PHQ-2 and PHQ-9 with older adults in a variety of health and social service settings. The training uses interactive methods where learners can rate patient scenarios and receive feedback on responses. It also includes instruction on assessing and responding to varying levels of suicide risk. CEs are available for nurses at a small fee.
