Test Your Aides on Communication with March’s In-Home Aides-Partners in Quality Care

As a benefit of membership, HCAF provides agencies with In-Home Aides-Partners in Quality Care, a monthly publication that addresses relevant topics for home health aides. Topics addressed in In-Home Aides-Partners in Quality Care have included quality, aging, safety, teamwork, falls prevention and more.

The March 2013 edition addresses communication, about which aides will learn the:

  • Importance of effective communication-basic principles
  • Skills for effective communication: listening; self management; self awareness
  • How emotions affect communication.

Each edition of In-Home Aides-Partners in Quality Care is packed with useful information on the month’s topic as well as a post-test (answer key included) for home health aides so they can earn one hour towards the 12 hours-per-year Medicare requirement!
